Career Advice from a Comic Book
Daniel Pink unleashed a Conceptual Age book in his new publication "The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Book You Will Ever Need" Click on the blue title to see a review from Business Week.

I like the article because it describes the unique features of a business book( the first of its' kind) done in the Japanese comic genre Manga. The article does not quite "get it" as it asked for specific career tips rather than bask in the wisdom and symbolic interpretation that any great mythic adventure provides.

Head over to www.JohnnyBunko.com for info, suprises and a preview -- Than buy a book for a friend or colleague.

Boring Meetings Suck
What other way is there to say it with conviction. I am remiss in not posting on the new book by local creatives Don "The IDEA Guy" and Jon Petz. Click on the title link to learn more about this gem of a book and while you are there stop into Don and Jon's remarkable websites.

Support local talent! It has never been this easy --the book is a steal and a gift for anyone who reads it and utilizes ideas that stop boredom dead in its tracks. Boring Meeting Suck is funny, fascinating and functional.

Human + Capital =
April's Fast Company magazine and web site feature interesting articles about the current state of Corporate Initiatives aimed at improving the health corporate culture. "Measured Progress" provides new information on how companies are measuring the impact that yields a benefit for shareholder and community member.

I remember first hearing the phrase Employer of Choice seven or eight years ago and I still find this to be the exception. I do believe that the various generations that make up our workforce expect more and are increasingly willing to work in a new way to create more "people - friendly" companies.
