Future Jobs: College Grads Need Not Apply


Depending on where you read "the economy" or The Economy" is re-open for job seekers or a workers wasteland getting worse. I see both as true as we grapple with making decisions in a new era of built for speed and the vocational change artist. I appreciate the vivid depiction that Al Fin delivers in a strong tone. It is not pleasant to witness the pain & confusion that many refer to as "The Anxiety Age", though it is even worse to imagine our world without the big dose of possibility that change activates.

Do You Believe In Magic?

I do or I can say I choose to as in "Those magic moments..." song. The link above from the archives of Fast Company Magazine is a quality think-piece that reminds me of the relationship between creativity and discipline.

When I spot a top ten list I have a hard time not taking a peek. Fast Company recently featured
Top Ten Work/Life Balance Turn-Offs on their blog. A bit negative but good grains of truth and several buzz terms worth noting.

"It's like... T.V."
I am not a believer in the concept of educational television; that is the passive connection with the animal kingdom, Sesame St. or Dora and all hear explorer friends. I grew up in the golden brown television Age of the Brady Bunch, Charlie's Angels, All in the Family, Taxi , Seals & Kroft, Martin & Rowen, Shields & Yarn ell and on and on....

I love to read and I enjoy a good show on the box.I have yet to hear about the brain science based benefits of T.V. I do get a kick out of the 'learning programs" with cool, clever WordGirl and the lively Higglytown Heroes.
